Zildjian Cymbals
Marko uses a
variety of Zildjian cymbals, depending on the
situation. Here is a breakdown of some of his
favorite Zildjians:
20"
Constantinople Medium Ride
A bolder, more
emphasized and defined fundamental stick sound
with a little more articulation. Dry with a good
degree of very pleasing overtones and "wash".
K Constantinople
cymbals speak with the dark warm sound
associated with Zildjian cymbals made in Turkey
in the first half of the 20th Century. "Old K's"
first resurfaced during the 1950s and 1960s in
set-ups of bebop era vanguard drummers like
Elvin Jones.
K Constantinoples
are hand-lathed by skilled artisans using
old-style cutting tools. Pits and other surface
impurities, that modern finishing processes
remove, are retained, preserving the original
tonal quality.
22" K Custom
Flat Top Ride
These cymbals
feature clear, crisp, shimmering tones with
distinctive dry stick sound. They come in a
brilliant finish and are perfect for Fusion, Hip
Hop, Jazz, Latin, Pop, R&B, Rock, and World
music.
Perfect for all
skill levels.
8" K Splash
Zildjian's
innovative "over-hammering" technique applied to
very thin Splashes for the first time. Creats a
uniquely dry Splash sound with more clarity, a
quicker attack and faster decay.
Perfect for all
contemporary music demands.
16" A Thin
Crash
The A Series is
the choice of more drummers than any other
cymbal in the world. Each cymbal is individually
cast and rolled from the secret Zildjian alloy,
creating instruments that have a distinct voice
and character. This 16 in. Thin Crash continues
the tradition of excellence.
The Zildjian A
Series has shaped musical history from Beethoven
to the Beatles. They are brilliant, bright, and
full-bodied and the standard by which all other
cymbals are compared. This series features more
weights and sizes than any other series, and is
proven to excel in any musical setting.
18" Oriental
Crash
Unique among
Zildjian China cymbals.
Features a
dramatic, swooping and very broad upturned lip
in a truly authentic, original Chinese fashion.
Together with a unique hammering technique and
thin taper, the Classic Chinas produce a
fabulous, explosive "China" sound with richness
and full-bodied, yet trashy overtones.
